Personalized Therapy
Research direction and background
Phagebanks pre-screened with clinically representative strains can achieve broad overall coverage of pathogenic bacteria. CreatiPhage has established high-quality native lytic phagebanks for common clinical superbugs including Acinetobacter baumannii, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter spp., Staphylococcus spp. and Enterococcus spp. Standard operating procedures covering the full lifecycle of personalized phage therapy (New Biomedical Technology, NBMT) have been established in prior clinical practice. The entire workflow, from clinical pathogen isolation to initiation of phage therapy, can be completed in as short as 24 hours.

The ESKAPE pathogens (Enterococcus faecium, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Acinetobacter baumannii, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Enterobacter species) are the most common, drug-resistant, and difficult-to-treat pathogens worldwide, causing over 3.2 million related deaths annually, ranking at the top of the WHO's list of 12 superbugs in 2017. In China, 2.168 million cases of ESKAPE infections were monitored in healthcare facilities in 2020. For specific pathogens infected patients, CreatiPhage utilizes its established standard cPhageBank high-throughput phage screening technologies, and phage combination system to quickly select the most suitable personalized phage cocktail formula for treatment.
Currently, CreatiPhage is working with partner medical institutions to advance the clinical research filing of phage therapy as a New Biomedical Technology. The phage dosage form is a liquid, and the initial indications are Acinetobacter baumannii pneumonia and Klebsiella pneumoniae urinary tract infection, using commonly used clinical administration regimens such as nebulized inhalation and bladder instillation..
